The myth
Second Dawn is a metalcore band whose origin lies in the Dutch provinces Brabant and Gelderland. The music of Second Dawn combines the power and straight-forwardness of hardcore with the melody and brutality of metal. Metallic hardcore with an injection of death metal, a hand full of thrash and a sniff of rock is probably the best way to describe Second Dawn’s music. Influences are for example, At The Gates, Slayer, All Out War and Hatebreed.
The world we are living in is being torn apart. There are plenty of subjects that Second Dawn has something to say about. Religion, environmental issues, war and the hypocrisy of the world are all topics that Second Dawn has a strong opinion about and are touched upon in the lyrics.
Especially in the city of Arnhem, Second Dawn had already played several gigs and have gained an excellent reputation. All the band members have several years of experience under their belts from playing in other bands. Among these bands are Strike 1st (signed with Crucial Response Records), Lab Rat, Forever Blue and Respite. On stage, Second Dawn proves this with a devastating and sincere live-performance.
Second Dawn recently entered the studio and recorded its debut CD ‘Four Seasons Of Hate’. This CD contains five songs. The purpose of this CD is to reach a larger audience, play more shows and to let the world know what Second Dawn is.

The many
- Pim, Jaap and Mark used to play in "Triforce" (rip).
- Jaap also used to play in "Grand Audio Commotion" (rip) and now plays in "Respite".
- Mark played a few shows with ".ForeverBlue.".
- Rutger plays in "Strike First" and "Lab Rat". He's also a former member of "If I Knew" and probably has a horde of other bands we don't know about.
